For a peek into the changing times of the 20th century, follow “Don’s Stories,” a blog presented by his daughter Cassandra Van Pelt Johnson.  Don Van Pelt witnessed major world upheavals and technical advances during his lifespan, 1918-2000.  He resided in California for almost 60 years and raised a family in the suburban community of Monrovia.  After reading a few of his stories, you’ll probably agree that even though we live more comfortably now,  the tough times of the 30’s in Sioux City, Iowa, harken back to a simpler time Don viewed with a distant nostalgia.

Hey Sandy, The postings are great. I love the photos of Don holding the saws, I remember He was always sawing up something way after those photos were taken!
